Beyond the Classroom Learning: Industry visit to Alif Bank in Dushanbe

On November 12, the Higher Diploma in IT students from MDIS Dushanbe had the valuable opportunity to participate in an industry visit to Alif Bank in Dushanbe, one of the leading financial technology institutions in Tajikistan. The visit aimed to enhance students’ understanding of real world IT applications, modern banking technologies, and the growing importance of cybersecurity and digital solutions in the financial sector.

Upon arrival, the students were warmly welcomed by Mr Nasim Sadulloev, Gulanor Atobek, Gairatjon Ismoilov from the Cybersecurity Department, and Nazira Nosirova from the Marketing team. Their hospitality and readiness to share their expertise created an engaging learning environment for the students.

During the session, Alif Bank representatives provided detailed insights into the bank’s technological infrastructure, highlighting how IT systems support daily banking operations, digital payments, and customer services. Students learned about the integration of software development, cloud solutions, and secure data management in maintaining efficient financial services. This exposure allowed them to see the direct link between their academic modules and industry practices.

A key highlight of the visit was the cybersecurity briefing conducted by Gairatjon Ismoilov, who discussed the critical role of cybersecurity in protecting financial institutions from digital threats. Students gained valuable knowledge about threat detection, vulnerability assessment, network security protocols, and the importance of building resilient systems. This was particularly beneficial for those interested in pursuing careers in ethical hacking, network security, or digital risk management.

From the marketing perspective, Nazira Nosirova explained how technology and marketing work together to enhance customer experience. She introduced students to Alif Bank’s digital marketing strategies, customer engagement platforms, and the bank’s approach to building trust through transparency and innovation.

The objectives of the visit were successfully achieved: students gained practical exposure, understood industry expectations, and developed a clearer perspective on career paths within IT and fintech sectors. The experience not only strengthened their academic learning but also inspired them to further explore advanced technologies and cybersecurity solutions.

Overall, the industry visits to Alif Bank provided MDIS Dushanbe students with meaningful insights and a strong foundation for their future professional journeys.
