On Thursday, August 07, 2025, journalists from four newspapers, Sadoi Mardum (The People’s Voice), Jumhuriyat (The Republicans), Omuzgor (The Tutor), and Sadoi Dushanbe (The Voice of Dushanbe), and a radio company, Hamsado, attended a press conference hosted by MDIS Dushanbe (MDISD). The event, organised under the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tajikistan, marked the second press conference of the year. MDISD was presented by Rector, Professor Mukhtorov Zaynidin, and Dean, Andy Tan Kien Chiang.

The Rector provided an overview of MDISD students’ activities from January to June 2025 and formally introduced the new Dean, Andy Tan Kien Chiang, who joined the MDISD in April 2025. The Dean outlined upcoming student initiatives, including the formation of the MDISD student union, student-centred approach, reaffirmed MDISD’s commitment to enhance the student learning experience through collaborations with MDIS Singapore and partner universities in the UK. He also highlighted opportunities for MDISD students to participate in online seminars alongside their peers abroad.  

Additionally, the Dean announced a new partnership with the Agency of Innovation and Digital Technology, complementing MDISD’s existing collaborations with Koinoti Nav, Avesto, TGem, and T-Cell. He also revealed that new academic programmes are in the pipeline and will be launched once administrative procedures are completed, in partnership with UK universities. Furthermore, he mentioned that the MDISD campus is currently undergoing renovations to provide students enhanced facilities and learning spaces, especially for the upcoming October 2025 intake.
