August 31, 2022 The Founder of Peace and National Unity — Leader of the Nation, President of the Republic of Tajikistan, dear Emomali Rahmon, the Mayor of Dushanbe, Rustami Emomali together with President of MDIS Dr Eric Kuan and  Rector of MDIS Dushanbe Zaynidin Mukhtorov laid the foundation stone for the construction of the Management Development Institute of Singapore in Dushanbe campus building.

Management Development Institute of Singapore, founded in 1956, is a not-for-profit professional institution for lifelong learning. MDIS partners with renowned universities in the United Kingdom (UK) and the United States of America (USA) and offers internationally-accredited courses in Business and Management, Engineering, Fashion and Jewellery Design, Health and Nursing, Information Technology, Languages and Education, Life Sciences, Media and Communications, Psychology, Tourism and Hospitality Management and Safety and Environmental Management.

The primary objective of MDIS is to make education accessible and affordable. As an institution, we aim to maximize the future readiness of individuals and organisations through recognised industry-relevant and competency-based programmes.

MDIS embraces a culture of life-long learning to nurture and maximise the potential of our students. We offer a range of programmes including Diploma’s, Bachelor’s Degrees, Master’s Degree and Doctorate programmes in partnership with our international university partners.

All our programmes are industry-relevant and our goal is to train managers to drive the economy of their host countries. The programmes are taught by practitioners and academics and incorporate real-world learning, and best global practices with a strong industry focus.

MDIS has Campuses in Singapore, Malaysia, Uzbekistan and this new Campus in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

Central Asia, in particular, is experiencing an era of unprecedented growth. Countries in the region, including Tajikistan, are jumpstarting their economies after the COVID-19 pandemic. There is sustained growth in business, manufacturing, tourism and hospitality. There is an urgent need to support the growth of these industries with highly skilled labour and to develop managerial talents to run these enterprises. MDIS’ programmes are specifically designed to train leaders to pilot organisations and enterprises in the country.

Management Development Institute of Singapore in Dushanbe will offer programmes to train managers for the industry in the areas of business, industrial management, informational technologies and cybersecurity, hospitality and tourism, for a start. These programmes will be offered at Diploma, Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s levels. In line with Tajikistan`s economic thrust, we will also offer other relevant programmes in various disciplines in the years to come.

The main purpose of the establishment of the MDIS Dushanbe is to strengthen cooperation between Tajikistan and Singapore, create healthy competition in the field of science and education and provide the labor market with qualified specialists.

It is important to mention that all classroom instructions and learning processes will be in English, the language of the business world, and will be taught by a highly qualified international faculty, made up of academics and practitioners. Students who study at MDIS Dushanbe will be able to graduate with internationally recognized Degrees and will find it much easier to get employed in their respective industries.

MDIS Dushanbe will commence the recruitment for three (3) programmes, namely, Foundation Year Certificate, Professional Certificate in English and Professional Diploma in Tourism and Hospitality Operations in 2022. In 2023, it will start offering programmes at the undergraduate and postgraduate degree levels.
