The International Foundation Diploma in Travel, Tourism and Hospitality has been specially designed to enable students to build foundational understanding and knowledge of the hospitality and tourism industry. They will develop appreciation of the fundamentals of marketing, planning and communication, acquire personal grooming and development skills critical in the service industry, with additional specialisation in food & beverage operations, hotel operations, tourism planning and supporting IT services.

The programme would be delivered through lectures, seminars and tutorials and a range of assessment methods including project work involving research, presentations, written assignments and examinations, empowering students to:

• Gain proficiency in application of fundamental business-related principles.
• Identify and relate to customers’ issues, and respond delivering high-level services.
• Develop a broad understanding of cultural and contextual issues within the field of hospitality and tourism.
• Realise their ideas from conception to completion, and to present and pitch their valued propositions professionally.
• Master effective time management, and learning to adapt as an individual or in a group work environment.

• At least 1 IGCSE Level Pass OR
• Applicants shall have 11 years of formal education OR
• Mature candidates ( ≥ 30 years old with 8 years relevant work experience)

• Achieve a minimum band of 5.5 in the IELTS or equivalent, OR
• Pass the English Entrance Test (EET) conducted by MDIS, OR
• Completed MDIS Professional Certificate in English (PCIE), OR
• 1 IGCSE Level Pass (either English 1st or 2nd language), OR
• Letter from College/University clearly stating the Medium of Instruction of the highest qualification to be English.
