MDIS Dushanbe Press Conference: Institutional Growth, Academic Expansion, and Strategic Partnerships

On Monday, February 9th, the Management Development Institute of Singapore (MDIS) in Dushanbe held a press conference presenting the Institute’s key achievements, institutional milestones, and strategic priorities. The event provided an overview of the Institute’s progress, particularly its academic development, growing student community, and expanding network of partnerships.

During the conference, MDIS Dushanbe’s Rector, Professor Zaynidin Mukhtorov and Dean, Professor Andy Tan emphasized MDIS Dushanbe’s steady institutional growth since the branch began operations in 2021 and enrolled its first students in 2023. Over this period, the Institute has strengthened its academic portfolio, expanded its partnerships, and strengthened its position within Tajikistan’s higher education sector. MDIS Dushanbe is currently preparing to welcome its fourth cohort of students, highlighting the increasing demand for internationally recognized academic programmes.

Representatives highlighted the Institute’s academic programmes delivered in partnership with leading UK universities, the University of Sunderland and Teesside University, which provide students in Tajikistan with access to internationally accredited British degrees. MDIS Dushanbe offers Bachelor’s degree programmes in Business and Financial Management, Business and Marketing Management, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, and International Tourism and Hospitality Management, alongside its graduate-level Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme.

The conference also highlighted the positive developments and expansion in student enrollment. In this context, the Institute began with its first intake of 25 students, and by the third year this number had reached 134. The Institute demonstrates steady growth in its student population, reflecting the expansion of its academic community and the increasing interest in modern international education.

Particular attention was given to the Institute’s strategic partnerships with leading organizations in Tajikistan, including Koinoti Nav, Avesto Group, TGEM, and Tcell. These collaborations support educational opportunities, student development initiatives, and stronger connections between educational sector and job industry. In addition, MDIS Dushanbe continues its cooperation with the Agency for Innovation and Digital Technologies under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, focusing on joint initiatives, knowledge exchange, and professional development opportunities.

Alongside academic development, MDIS Dushanbe continues to prioritize a dynamic and supportive student experience. Students actively participate in volunteering initiatives, student-led events, and campus activities designed to foster leadership, collaboration, and a strong sense of community. The continued development of student clubs and extracurricular activities further enriches campus life and strengthens the student community.

Looking ahead, MDIS Dushanbe intends to further expand its academic offerings, strengthen institutional partnerships, and enhance practice-oriented education while continuing to contribute to the development of human capital in Tajikistan.
