We are thrilled to introduce Ms. Johanna Rivera Austria, a highly accomplished educator who brings a wealth of experience and expertise to MDIS Dushanbe.

Education: Ms. Johanna is currently pursuing her Doctor of Business Administration (Candidate) at AMA University, Philippines. She holds a Master of Arts in Education from Bangor University, United Kingdom, with Distinction. Additionally, she has a Diploma in Secondary Education from the Philippine Normal University, where she graduated with honours. Ms. Johanna’s academic journey also includes a Bachelor of Arts in English from Polytechnic University of the Philippines, again with honours.

Expertise: With nearly two decades of teaching experience, Ms. Johanna specialises in teaching English to diverse student populations both in Singapore and internationally. Her expertise extends to ESL/EFL examinations such as the Singapore Cambridge GSCE O-Level, Cambridge IGCSE, IELTS, and TOEFL. Moreover, she is adept at coaching public speaking for secondary and tertiary students.

Contributions: Ms. Johanna serves as an Academic and Research Writing lecturer, assisting students from various disciplines in organising their ideas and presenting cogent academic papers. Her scholarly contributions include published articles focusing on pedagogy and adult learning, reflecting her dedication to advancing educational research.

Teaching Philosophy: At the core of Ms. Johanna’s teaching philosophy lies a commitment to inclusive classrooms and dynamic activities that foster student engagement and meaningful interactions. She emphasises the importance of igniting students’ intrinsic motivation for learning and believes in creating environments that cater to the needs of multicultural learners. Ms. Johanna’s deep understanding of diverse learning dynamics enables her to create enriching educational experiences for her students.
